State Highway 2 Main Street through Pahiatua will be closed overnight this Sunday (27 August) as crews complete line marking on the road.

The stretch of road between Princess Street and Wakeman Street will close at 10pm on Sunday and reopen, 4am on Monday (28 August.)

All road users are requested to please use the sign-posted detours in place during this time.

Northbound traffic will be detoured onto Mangahao Road, Albert Street and Tararua Street before rejoining SH2.

When crews switch to the other side of the road, southbound traffic will be detoured down Wakeman Street, Sedcole Street and Princess Street and then back onto SH2.

These works will enable contractors to safely renew the line markings on the road.

We acknowledge road closures can be disruptive and expect to be able to keep that disruption to a minimum by doing this work overnight. We want to thank road users in advance for taking the detours.
