State Highway 2 Remutaka Hill truck crash set to cause travel delays

People travelling between Wellington and Wairarapa can expect travel delays as emergency services and contractors attend a truck crash this afternoon.

Update 3:25 pm:

Stop/go traffic management is being used at the crash scene and heavy vehicle tow is enroute to recover the truck

Drivers can expect short delays – 5-10 minutes – when travelling through the area.

People travelling between Wellington and Wairarapa can expect travel delays as emergency services and contractors attend a truck crash this afternoon.

The incident, reported just after two pm this afternoon, occurred approximately five kilometres from Featherston. Initial information is that the truck has rolled.

The highway is currently open, but drivers can expect delays when travelling through the area. Please follow the directions of emergency services on-site.

Wairarapa-based fans attending tonight’s FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ game between New Zealand and the Philippines should allow extra time for their travel.
