Motorists travelling on State Highway 2, Upper Hutt, and State Highway 58, near Bradey Road, can expect travel delays as contractors carry out pavement works.

Road users should consider alternative routes or delaying their journey as peak hour delays in these areas are expected.

State Highway 2 – Between Tōtara Park Road and Gibbons Street

  • There will be a southbound lane closure until contractors complete pavement repairs and the lane is safe to be reopened to traffic.
  • The repairs will continue alongside ongoing median barrier installation work.
  • Drivers can expect temporary speed limits and stop/go traffic management to remain in this area.

State Highway 58 – near Bradey Road

  • A 30km/h speed restriction will remain in place until pavement works are completed.
  • Further nightworks and are planned for the rest of this week between 8pm and 4am.

Waka Kotahi appreciates these works have occurred at short notice and created delays and frustration for drivers. However, for safety reasons, the surfacing works must be done as soon as possible. Contractors are working hard to complete them.
