Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises that State Highway 1 (SH1) will close from 7am tomorrow, Thursday 6 July, around the side of Lake Taupō, to recover a logging truck that has gone over the edge at Te Pōporo (Bulli Point) this afternoon.
The road will re-open between lunch time and the end of the day, depending on the degree of difficulty encountered in the truck recovery.
The detour will be via State Highway 41 (SH41) and State Highway 32 (SH32). A reminder that there are temporary traffic signals in operation on SH41 past a slip site and road users should expect delays.
Waka Kotahi will update road users on expected re-opening time of SH1 tomorrow.
