Children feared trapped and thousands killed.

A devastating earthquake has hit Türkiye (formally known as Turkey) and Syria. Children are feared to be trapped and thousands have lost their lives. This is one of the strongest earthquakes to hit the region in 100 years.

Over 2,800 buildings have collapsed in Türkiye, including hospitals, schools and government buildings. Twelve years of conflict in Syria have left families on the brink. Children will need urgent support to access food, shelter and warm clothing to protect them against the elements.

Our teams in Türkiye and Syria are moving quickly to respond to the emergency, working with partner organisations to ensure children are getting the crucial support they need.

Our Children’s Emergency Fund allows us to respond wherever the need is greatest. It helps us to reach children quickly with the essentials they need to survive.

Donate to our Children’s Emergency Fund and help children in crisis.
