I greet you all in the language of the tangata whenua of Aotearoa New Zealand. And I too acknowledge the status and place of the first nations people of this land. Thank you for that introduction and the opportunity to share some insights drawn from the recent work of my Office, and what we intend to focus on for the year to come. Four months into the job, Im not claiming to be an instant expert in the intricacies of privacy law.
