Resealing works on a section of SH2 in Pahiatua are planned to start this Monday, 21 November and will take five days, Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises.

A section of the northbound lane of SH2 between Cambridge Street and Dawson Street will be closed from 7am to 6pm daily, and there will be signposted detours in place for both northbound and southbound traffic:

  • Northbound traffic will be detoured along the southbound lane
  • Southbound traffic will be detoured via Paterson Street, Sedcole Street, Dawson Street, back onto SH2

During this time contractors will undertake pre-reseal repair works, followed by chipseal resealing, on the northbound lane.

Closing the lane and detouring traffic means delays through the town can be kept to a minimum. Road users are advised that at times during the work period there may be delays of 5-10 minutes, when work is underway at the northern end of the site and Stop/Go traffic management is needed.

In the event of bad weather, work will begin on the next fine day and will extend the programme out.

Waka Kotahi thanks everyone for their patience while we undertake this important work.
