Resealing on a section of State Highway 6 near Wanaka Airport will start next week as part of the Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency summer works programme.

“This will improve the overall surface of the road, important for the network and the safety of our community”, says Peter Standring, Maintenance Contract Manager, Waka Kotahi, Central Otago. “We encourage people to build in some extra time if they are using this route next week and take care around our road crews.”

Aspiring Highways, on behalf of Waka Kotahi, is doing this work which will run from Monday 14 November until Friday 18 November, from 9am to 5pm each day.

  • Users can expect delays of up to 10 minutes while works are underway.
  • These works are weather dependent so the dates may shift accordingly.
