Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises State Highway 3 at Tangahoe, seven kilometres south of Hawera, is currently down to one lane due to an underslip that is undermining the southbound lane.

The site is currently under Stop/Go traffic management.

The site will likely be down to one lane for up to 12 weeks while design and construction of a retaining wall to reinstate the road is undertaken.

People are advised to take care when travelling through the site and allow extra time for their journeys.

Traffic lights will be installed at the site shortly.

Waka Kotahi thanks everyone for their patience.
