State Highway 6 Rocks Road will be subject to a one-lane closure this Tuesday, 6 September, between 9.30am and 3pm.
The measures will see the route restricted to alternating northbound and southbound traffic flows under Stop/Go temporary traffic lights and a 30km/h speed limit.
The southbound lane is being closed to allow existing barriers to be removed and replaced with safety fences between Bisley Avenue and Richardson Street intersections.
Once installed, the new safety fences will allow cyclists to use the southbound lane when it is reopened.
While this work is being done, southbound cyclists must use the inland Railway Reserve shared path.
Drivers should expect delays and drive with care on this stretch of road while this work is being carried out. Waka Kotahi wants to thank road users and residents for their patience and understanding while this work is carried out.
