Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises there will be roadworks on State Highway 1 between Levin and Foxton for five nights from Monday 29 August 2022.

Stop/Go traffic management will be in place on SH1 between Kawiu Road and the Whirokino Bridge from 8pm-5am each night from Monday 29 August until Saturday 3 September. Stop/Go is required for contractors to safely use machinery to undertake drainage maintenance.

On Thursday 1 September, contractors are also planning one night of maintenance work at the Whirokino Trestle. This work will run from 6pm-6am.

People are advised to plan ahead and expect delays at each of these sites of up to 10 minutes while work is underway.

The work will be undertaken overnight, when traffic levels are lowest. If travelling at this time, people are advised to take extra care through the work site to help keep everyone safe.

Waka Kotahi thanks everyone for their patience while we undertake this important maintenance work.
