We have a fantastic opportunity for a EA/Business Support Assistant to join our collaborative team in Wellington. The EA/Business Support Assistant will provide high level executive support to two Assistant Commissioners, and business and administrative support to their Business Managers and their respective teams. This is a cross-functional role, and the EA/Business Support Assistant is expected to build connections across the office, understand the nuances of our specialist teams, and contribute to their varied programmes of work. 

You will be joining an organisation that has a strong focus on diversity and inclusion and is committed to upholding the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.  

The duties the EA/Business Assistant will undertake include: 

  • Scheduling and managing appointments for the Assistant Commissioners and Business Managers
  • Organising meeting papers and taking minutes when required
  • Drafting routine correspondence and assisting with email management 
  • Arranging travel and accommodation 
  • Maintaining accurate records in our information systems 
  • Co-ordinating and tracking work on behalf of Business Managers
  • Helping produce timely and accurate documents and assisting with quality assurance (proof reading, formatting, accuracy) 
  • Providing general administrative support to the wider office, working with other business support staff

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience with providing executive and administrative support
  • Maturity and confidence to manage stakeholder relationships
  • Great communication skills, both verbal and written
  • High standards of conduct and professionalism 
  • A desire to continuously learn and upskill 
  • High attention to detail
  • A collaborative, can-do attitude
