Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency would like to advise that contractors are working hard to clear large slips on many roads in the Bay of Plenty region.
Eastern Bay of Plenty
SH33
Contractors are working hard to clear a large slip on State Highway 33 between Allport and Maniatutu Road and the road was opened to one lane under Stop/Go traffic management at 10am.
It is expected that the road will be fully open by 3pm.
SH30
Due to two slips (within 500m of each other) between State Highway 34 and Matahi Road, State Highway 30 is down to one lane under Stop/Go traffic management.
Waka Kotahi estimates that the road will be fully open to two lanes by 4pm.
Western Bay of Plenty
SH29
Due to a slip and downed tree on State Highway 29 between Old Kaimai Rd and Hanga Rd, there is currently a lane shift in place under Stop/Go traffic management until the site is cleared.
Please drive to the conditions and be vigilant when you’re driving through the Bay of Plenty today.
