Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises that maintenance work on State Highway 1 (SH1) northbound between Silverdale and Pūhoi will take place between 10pm on Thursday 21 and 5am on Friday 22 July and between 10pm on Sunday 24 and 5am on Monday 25 July.

How will you be affected?

SH1 will be closed northbound between Silverdale and Pūhoi. The northbound toll road and tunnel will be closed to motorists.

The following ramps will also be closed. Signposted detours will be in place.

  • Silverdale northbound on-ramp
  • Grand Drive on-ramp
  • Wainui northbound off-ramp

For road users wanting to travel between Silverdale and Pūhoi, a signposted detour will direct traffic via Hibiscus Coast Highway (previously known as SH17) between the Silverdale interchange and Pūhoi. This will add approximately 15 minutes to journeys. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.

Please note this work may be rescheduled due to weather or COVID-19 compliance requirements. Please check Waka Kotahi Journey Planner for updates.
