Heavy rain and bad weather has seen the closure of key State Highway links across the top of the South Island. As of midday, Tuesday 12 July, the following State Highways are closed:
• SH63 is closed between St Arnaud to Renwick.
• SH1 is closed between Blenheim and Seddon.

Road conditions are challenging with slips, rockfalls, and surface water. Extreme caution is needed and on essential travel should be considered.

Contractors are working at multiple locations across the region. Please take care when driving through roadwork and repair sites.
