Today we are sadly reporting the deaths of 16 people with COVID-19.

These deaths take the total number of publicly reported deaths with COVID-19 to 1,102 and the 7-day rolling average of reported deaths is 12.

Of the people whose deaths we are reporting today; 7 were from the Auckland region, 3 were from Canterbury, 3 were from the Wellington region, 1 was from Lakes, 1 was from Bay of Plenty, and 1 was from Southern.

Two people were in their 60s, 2 were in their 70s, 8 were in their 80s, and 4 were aged over 90.

Of these people, 9 were female and 7 were male.

This is a very sad time for whānau and friends and our thoughts and condolences are with them.

Out of respect, we will be making no further comment on these deaths.
