Update from the Ministry of Health
Today we are reporting 6,000 community cases, 363 hospitalisations and 9 deaths.
The 7-day rolling average of community case numbers is 7,712 — last Monday it was 7,702.
COVID-19 deaths
Today we are sadly reporting the deaths of 9 people with COVID-19.
These deaths take the total number of publicly reported deaths with COVID-19 to 1,064 and the 7-day rolling average of reported deaths is 12.
Of the people whose deaths we are reporting today; 1 was from the Auckland region, 2 were from Taranaki, 2 were from Bay of Plenty, 2 were from Wellington and 2 were from Canterbury.
One person was in their 30s, 3 were in their 80s and 5 were aged over 90.
Of these people, 8 were female and 1 was male.
This is a very sad time for whānau and friends and our thoughts and condolences are with them.
Out of respect, we will be making no further comment on these deaths.
