Headline: FMA levies for companies are changing from 1 July 2022

The FMA levies on the Companies Register are increasing from 1 July, and this will affect the total fees you’ll need to pay. This includes the levies for:

  • incorporating a company
  • filing financial statements under the Financial Market Conduct Act 2013 (FMC Act)
  • filing an annual return

All fees are in New Zealand dollars (NZD) and exclude GST.

If you’re due to file your financial statements or annual return in June, make sure you file no later than 30 June otherwise you will need to pay the higher levies.

Background to these levy changes

The change is part of the Government’s plan to increase the FMA’s budget to help it fulfil its responsibilities as the financial markets’ regulator.
