A guide for critical workers for getting a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) under the Close Contact Exemption Scheme, how to self test and how to register the result.

Rapid antigen tests (RATs) are a type of test which can be carried out at home or with minimal support required. A swab is taken from the front of the nose and results are usually available within 20 minutes.

This guidance is for critical workers in our Omicron response. It covers the models for accessing RATs under the Close Contact Excemption Scheme (CCES) depending on the worker’s employer, how to self test and how to register the result.
