An independent panel has approved a new residential development in the Auckland suburb of Remuera, which will include up to 238 apartments.
Urban Resort Limited and Icon Co PTY (NZ) Limited applied for resource consents under the COVID-19 Recovery (Fast-track Consenting) Act 2020.
The Ōmāhu Residential Development will include supporting amenities for residents and the wider public to enjoy, including hospitality, small scale retail, recreation activities, and large areas of open space which retain the existing pōhutakawa and Himalayan cedar trees.
The application sought various resource consents, including land use consent, and discharge and water permits under the Auckland Unitary Plan.
The Ōmāhu Residential Development expert consenting panel has today granted the resource consents, with conditions.
The decision comes 75 working days after the project was lodged with the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA). We are not involved in the decision-making. We provide advice and administrative support for the panel convener, Judge Newhook, and the expert consenting panels he appoints.
