There is a confirmed case of COVID-19 in our EIT community.
EIT was advised of the case on Saturday 12 February. The person affected was at the Hawke’s Bay Campus on 8th and 9th of February 2022. Contact tracing has been completed and all Close Contacts have been advised.
Our Tairāwhiti and Auckland campuses and Regional Learning Centres are not affected at all. Students and staff who have not been identified as close contacts may still come to EIT, but anyone who shows any symptoms should get tested immediately and then stay at home until they receive a negative result.
What EIT is doing;
- EIT’s Contact Tracing team has been initiated and working closely with Public Health and TEC.
- We have identified and been in contact with Close and Casual Contacts.
- The Hawkes Bay Campus remains open, and classes (apart from those impacted) will resume as per normal this week.
- Public health measures and cleaning including high touch points are in place.
What you need to do;
- Remember to wear your face coverings
- Bring your vaccine pass when coming to EIT
- Continue to scan using the NZ COVID-19 Tracer app, have Bluetooth turned on
- Maintain physical distancing, wash your hands, and cough into elbow
- Regularly check for locations of interest
- Monitor for symptoms. If any develop, self-isolate and get tested immediately. Do not come to EIT if you are sick.
- Get your booster as you become eligible
Please feel reassured that EIT is well prepared for this and that the health and safety of our staff, students and community are a top priority.
