An expert consenting panel has approved the development of two new railway stations on the North Island main trunk line.
KiwiRail applied for consent to operate the stations at Drury Central and Paerata, with associated roading interchanges and facilities, under the COVID-19 Recovery (Fast-track Consenting) Act 2020.
The panel has today granted resource consents with conditions, and confirmed four notices of requirement with conditions, to protect the land for its future designated purposes.
The decision comes 75 working days after the project was lodged with the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA). We are not involved in the decision-making. We provide advice and administrative support for the Panel Convener, Judge Newhook, and the expert consenting panels he appoints.
