Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is advising that improvements to the road surface on State Highway 2 (SH2) at Bayview will get underway on Monday 24 January.
The work will include resurfacing and line marking on the section of SH2 between Rogers Road and Onehunga Road, and is expected to take eight weeks to complete.
Between 6am and 6pm a temporary speed restriction of 30km/h will be in place. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained most of the time, however stop/go may be required in some locations over the course of the work. This will be in place outside of peak hours (8.30am-9am and 3.30pm-5.30pm).
Motorists are advised to plan ahead and expect delays of up to 15 minutes. For the safety of workers, everyone travelling through the work site is advised to take extra care and adhere to the temporary speed restriction.
Waka Kotahi thanks motorists for their patience and understanding while this important work is underway.
Plan ahead for a safe, enjoyable journey. Keep up to date with:
