Employment indicators: Weekly as at 13 December 2021 – Information release

Key facts

The 6-day series includes jobs with a pay period equal to or less than 7 days, while the 20-day series covers jobs with pay periods of 14 days or fewer. The 34-day series includes all jobs regardless of their pay period.

The 34-day series indicated that for the latest week, the week ended 07 November 2021:

  • the number of paid jobs (compared with the previous week) were:
    • 2,322,130 total paid jobs (up 1,410 or 0.06 percent)
    • 106,590 paid jobs in primary industries (up 290 or 0.27 percent)
    • 439,260 paid jobs in goods-producing industries (down 70 or 0.02 percent)
    • 1,719,180 paid jobs in services industries (up 1,260 or 0.07 percent)
    • 57,100 paid jobs in unclassified industries (down 70 or 0.12 percent)
  • the median income (compared with the previous week) was:
    • $1,115.38 (down $4.62 or 0.41 percent).
