ESR has moved to require all staff, contractors and visitors coming into its premises to show proof of a Covid-19 vaccination before they can enter its buildings.
The policy follows an internal review of ESR’s Vaccination on Premises Policy, with an overwhelming majority of responses in support of the approach and the intention of the Policy.
ESR scientists and researchers play a critical role supporting the health and wellbeing of New Zealand communities and the organisation remains committed to minising the risk Covid-19 presents to staff and the customers and stakeholders it works with.
All staff and visitors must also comply with all COVID-19 Protection Framework advice, including wearing masks, physical distancing and good hygiene.
The policy has been developed to keep staff and visitors to ESR premises safe, whilst also minimising the risk to any unvaccinated staff.
Following a review of feedback of the draft ESR Vaccination on Premises Policy, we are pleased to confirm the new policy will come into effect from tomorrow, 8 December, with staff, contractors and visitors required to show proof of vaccination if they wish to come on site.
ESR’s priorities throughout the Covid-19 pandemic have included protecting the health, safety and well-being of our people and keeping our organisation running for the benefit of Aotearoa New Zealand.
Our scientists and researchers play a critical role supporting the health and wellbeing of New Zealand communities and we remain committed to minimising the risk Covid-19 presents to our people and our work by requiring any person(s) entering ESR locations to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 from 8 December 2021.
The Delta variant, and prospect of other variants, has changed the playing field significantly and the health and safety protocols that protected our people in the past are now less effective in protecting our people and our communities. We know Covid-19 vaccines provide the best level of protection for employees and our organisation’s work.
The ESR Covid-19 Vaccination Premises Policy has been overwhelmingly endorsed by our staff following recent consultation.
What this means for you
If you are visiting any ESR premises from 8 December 2021, in addition to using the COVID-19 tracer app to scan in on arrival, visitors will be required to show proof of vacation status by presenting the My Vaccine Pass before entering any ESR building.
For any person who is not fully vaccinated, we ask that you speak with your meeting host or ESR contact to arrange an alternative to meeting in our premises.
Lastly, we recognise Covid-19 presents many challenges to how we all work, and we thank you for the important role you play in keeping our people safe and our organisation running.
