The Auckland Metro DHB (which includes Auckland, Waitematā and Counties-Manukau) has today reached the milestone of 90% of its Pacific population having had their first vaccination, with 82% now fully vaccinated.

This is closely followed by the Auckland DHB’s eligible Māori population, who, as of earlier today, had fewer than 20 doses to go before hitting 90% for first vaccinations. This milestone is expected to be reached later today – with 81% of its eligible Māori population also now fully vaccinated.

There were 39,264 first and second vaccine doses administered yesterday, made up of:

  • 7,352 first doses, and
  • 17,389 second doses.

To date, 93% of eligible people in New Zealand have had their first dose and 87% are fully vaccinated.
