The Executive Director of Capital Markets Andrew Hagan is leaving Te Tai Ōhanga – the Treasury after 17 years for a career break, Secretary Caralee McLiesh announced today.

Mr Hagan joined Te Tai Ōhanga – the Treasury in 2004 and has held a number of leadership positions. Mr Hagan’s last day will be 7 January 2022.  An external recruitment process for his successor will commence shortly.

“Andy has been an outstanding contributor, not solely during his recent time as Executive Director but in other leadership roles including as acting Deputy Chief Executive Financial and Commercial. During the response to COVID-19 he oversaw significant commercial projects, the Government borrowing programme and led Treasury’s participation in a number of inter-agency initiatives that were critical to New Zealand’s recovery.”

“I wholeheartedly thank Andy for his leadership and significant contributions to the Treasury over the last two decades.”
