An independent panel has cleared the way for roading upgrades, including a walking and cycling path alongside State Highway 1, between Papakura and Drury South.
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency and Transpower jointly applied for this stage of their project under the COVID-19 Recovery (Fast-track Consenting) Act 2020.
An expert consenting panel has today granted resource consents with conditions, and confirmed two notices of requirement with conditions, to protect the land for its future designated purposes.
The decision comes 95 working days after the applications and notices of requirement were lodged with the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA).
We are not involved in the decision-making. The EPA provides advice and administrative support for the Panel Convener, Judge Newhook, and the expert consenting panels he appoints.
