In response to today’s Climate Action Tracker projections indicating the world is heading toward at least 2.4°C of warming, WWF released the following statement from Chief Scientist Rebecca Shaw:

“Much like the human body, our planet is a complex system. It is running a fever that is fundamentally disrupting the natural processes that humanity relies on. Our food systems, freshwater resources, and supply chains are further threatened as temperatures continue to rise.”

This analysis paints a dire picture, and our window of opportunity to keep temperature rise in check is rapidly shrinking. What happens in Glasgow this week could be one of our last shots to deliver meaningful action and funding that will set us on the right track. All eyes are on the leaders in Glasgow.”
