Enjoy the city centre at its best as it becomes a canvas filled with art installations, lighting, exhibitions and guided walks through the array of outdoor art on the city streets.

There’s a selection of experiences Aucklanders can enjoy over the next two weeks, including:

  • Changing Lanes (26 October – 17 November) – featuring the work of artist Erin Forsyth on the car park pillars in High Street, Paul Woodruffe, Teare Turetahi and Ashlee Tawhiti in Little High Street, Margaret Lewis and Bhavesh Bhuthadia in Elliott Street and Bobbie Gray in Durham Street East.
  • Freyberg Steps (20 October – 20 December) – artwork Nature Wins! by Deborah Crowe transforms Freyberg Place steps into an imaginary overgrown environment, where nasturtiums, mānuka and clover flowers grow wild and entangle through a bright photographic collage.
  • Forest of Light (2-14 November) – La Lumiere will light up Khartoum Place with magical large-scale lighting installations bringing light to the city centre in celebration of Artweek.
  • Guided walks (10-14 November) – through the art and heritage of the city centre’s streets, squares, and laneways.
  • Gallery exhibitions (10-14 November) – including Auckland Art Gallery, Gow Langsford, Fingers, Gus Fisher, Lightworx and Kura.
  • Light boxes (26 October – 15 November) – In celebration of Tāmaki Makaurau’s vibrant and progressive arts community, a curated series of lightboxes have been installed in Te Komititanga.
  • Self-guided walking tours of public art – these include the Link Alliance City Rail Link Art Walks around their station construction sites and Te Paparahi Toi Māori tours.
