‘I used to buy all my food from the supermarket… all the time.
One day, I discovered a whole new world of food, with new flavours from plants that were fresh, free, and found in local parks.’

Welcome to foraging.

Angelique Richards combines her teaching background and knowledge from Rongoā Māori courses (Māori medicinal use of plants) taught by Pa McGowan, Forest Schools in the UK, plus inspiration from Robin Wall Kimmerer to bring you foraging that offers a respectful way of harvesting edible wild plants.

Angelique taught foraging courses at Invest in Plants, Scotland for two years. On her return to Aotearoa, she noticed many forageable plants in the UK are also found here.

Angelique shares what she has learnt with you as we go on a foraging journey around EcoMatters Organic Teaching Gardens and Food forest, then on to Olympic Park in New Lynn.

We’ll cover the basics of foraging, harvesting mindfully, safety, plant identification, and recipe ideas.

This event is now a one hour webinar. Please note that it will cover plants, not fungi.
