Wound gel shows promise for horses – humans

An international reseach team, led by University of Canterbury’s Professor Rudi Marquez, has developed a new treatment that could help heal horses and humans alike.

The team has developed a wound gel using a compound that kick-starts tissue regeneration, which has already helped heal injuries on horses. The gel could eventually be used to treat foot ulcers on diabetic patients.
