Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises traffic management will be in place 150m north of Wolseley Road on State Highway 2 from Monday 11 October.

This work is part of the Waihī to Ōmokoroa safety improvements project, and is expected to take approximately three weeks.

SH2 Waihī to Ōmokoroa project

Temporary speed limits and Stop/Go will be in place and we will monitor traffic volumes to keep any delays to a minimum. This will allow our contractors to safely build retaining walls that can’t be built away from the highway due to contour of the surrounding land.

Stop/Go operations will only be in place while machinery is on the road and our contractors can quickly open both lanes should considerable delays arise.

This work may be postponed in the case of bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Other works underway as part of the Waihī to Ōmokoroa safety improvements project include ongoing road widening activities between Athenree Road and Kauri Point Road, and between Sharp Road to Sargent Road.
