Howick Historical Village Christmas at Twilight!

Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and family around the Christmas tree, London Illustrated News, 1848.

Step back into the magic of Christmas past in an enchanting heritage setting.

Experience the 1850’s village festively decorated for this annual celebration and the traditions of a Victorian Christmas as the sun goes down.

As well as the Village Shop and the old-fashioned sweet shop open for business, there will be a mini market of contemporary handmade goods and seasonal treats such as mince tarts and cakes for sale. Get a few stocking-fillers and gifts ticked off the list.

With food stalls, giveaways, special live performances by carol singers and others, workshops on decorations to delight young and old alike and jolly old Santa himself set-up beside the tree in the drawing room of the grand homestead Puhi Nui, it will be a fun evening out.

Explore the cottages and dwellings staged with trees, decorations, stockings hung by the fire. Come dressed in your Christmassy best to win a gift basket of goodies.

All proceeds support us in caring for the unique historical buildings and collections on site.
