Launch of 15 May 2051 Nominal Bond Announced

The Treasury announces the launch of a new 2.75% coupon 15 May 2051 nominal bond. Given the timing of the launch, the Treasury also announces the cancellation of the tender scheduled for 16 September 2021.

As previously announced, the Treasury expects to issue at least NZ$2.0 billion of the 15 May 2051 nominal bond and the transaction will be capped at NZ$3.0 billion. Initial price guidance is 25 to 35 basis points over the 15 May 2041 nominal bond. 

The issue will be priced on Tuesday 14 September 2021, and further issuance of the new bond will not occur prior to December 2021.

ANZ Bank New Zealand Limited; Bank of New Zealand; J.P. Morgan; UBS AG, Australia Branch; and Westpac Banking Corporation, New Zealand are Joint-Lead Managers for the issue.
