The Pest Free Auckland initiative focuses on suppressing pest animals, pest plants (environmental weeds), pathogens, and marine pests to enable nature to thrive. And planting natives, which helps improve existing habitats and establish new ones.

But it will take hard work from everyone, including volunteers like you, to make it happen.

Conservation groups across Auckland are working hard to protect our native habitats, plants and animals. Make a difference in your local area – find a conservation group near you.

Search the Auckland Conservation Directory

Search the ‘yellow pages’ of our region’s groups and organisations engaged in conservation across Tāmaki Makaurau in the Auckland Conservation Directory.

Tip: use the location drop down box to find groups near you.

Find out what’s happening in your neighbourhood

Check out the Conservation Map to see what activity is taking place in your neighbourhood, and who to connect with, to lend a hand.

Tip: tick the box next to the ‘Local initiative or group’ and the ‘Landscape initiative or group’ layers in the legend. Click on shapes to find out more.
