The Face Pay Technology of Moscow Metro has entered the shortlists of the TechFest International Prize in two categories: Transport Infrastructure Leader and Better Use of Technology: Artificial Intelligence.
Face Pay conquers world digital and reaches the level with projects from Hong Kong (China), Rutland (UK), Liguria (Italy) and York (UK). This technology will compete with the ETS Tunnel Maintenance Project, Bryden Wood’s automated cable management system and others.
The award will be presented at the annual New Civil Engineer’s TechFest conference in London on 2 December this year.
The testing of the Face Pay system for payment of travel has launched on two other lines of Moscow Metro – on Line 8 and on Line 6, reported in the press service of the Department of Transport.
We see that the system is stable, so we continue to scale up the open Face Pay testing area and expand the focus group to 7,000 people. Now participants of the testing can pass with facial recognition on four lines. The passengers leave us a useful feedback that will allow us to launch the technology soon for all Metro users. Face Pay will become another contactless payment method, with the rest of the options still available to passengers, – Deputy Mayor for Transport Maksim Liksutov.
