The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) wants to thank all those who stopped by for a haircut – or just a chat – at our National Fieldays exhibit.
The 2021 event was the second biggest in its 53-year history with over 132,000 people attending over the four days.
Our Sharing Shed themed exhibit included a Cutz & Kōrero feature, offering bespoke haircuts in exchange for conversations about the environment.
Paula Knaap, General Manager, Engagement says: “Our aim was to create a conversation space, where we could build a better understanding around the challenges and opportunities facing the farming sector.
“We all have a part to play in shaping the future of our environment, and we know many people in the sector want to be part of the solution – supporting a resilient industry where care for people and the environment is front and center. We wanted to hear their vision for the future of New Zealand’s environment – looking forward 3, 30, or even 300 years.
“What came through strongly in all of the conversations was genuine care and passion for the land and for the environmental future of Aotearoa.
“I want to thank everyone who shared their perspective with us over the four days. We’re going to spend the next few months looking at the feedback we received and working on ways to connect more with New Zealanders, including developing our relationship with the agriculture sector.”
