An expert consenting panel has approved the construction of a new retirement village in Wanaka, with 100 residential apartments and an associated care unit.
Additional facilities include a private hospital, a cafe, gym, swimming pool, and community centre.
Winton Property Limited applied for resource consents to be considered under the COVID-19 Recovery (Fast-track Consenting) Act 2020.
The expert consenting panel has today granted resource consents subject to conditions.
The decision comes 100 working days after the application was lodged with the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA).
The EPA is not involved in the decision-making – we provide advice and administrative support for the Panel Convener, Judge Newhook, and the expert consenting panels he appoints.
