Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises motorists to plan for delays of up to one hour if travelling on State Highway 3 over Mt Messenger from Monday 9 to Friday 13 August.

Road resurfacing and drainage works will be carried out from 8.30am-5.00pm on these days. This follows emergency surfacing work undertaken on Friday 16 July.

It will be a large site with a variety of works going on at any given time. For the safety of road users and our workers, road closures are required. Traffic will be stopped for up to an hour at the base on either side of Mt Messenger for one hour at a time in order to allow crews to undertake the work, with traffic released regularly to clear queues.
