Be immersed in a world of stars, sea and waka kaupapa at the Maritime Museum to celebrate Matariki – the Māori new year.

Daily Matariki activities: $5 per child

Make a Matariki inspired art print to take home, and head through the museum galleries on a self-guided trail to share, reflect and dive deeper into the Māori new year.

No booking required for these daily activities.

Whare Whētu | Star globe experience with Te Toki Voyaging Trust: $5 per person

Lay under the stars that make up the Matariki star constellation inside a blow-up star globe and learn what they mean to the ocean navigators from Te Toki Voyaging Trust.
