Mt Messenger road closures tomorrow – expect significant delays

Motorists are advised to plan head to avoid significant delays if traveling State Highway 3 over Mt Messenger tomorrow (Friday 16 July).

Emergency road surface repairs are needed on SH3 at Mount Messenger to ensure the safety of motorists. Due to the narrow road environment, there is no there is no way to get traffic safely through the site while crews are working.  

SH3 will be closed at the base of Mt Messenger on either side for an hour, before opening for half an hour from 10am until 5.00pm. Road closure times will be as follows:

10:00am to 11:00am

Open

11:00am to 11:30am

Closed

11:30am to 12:30pm

Open

12:30pm to 1:00pm

Closed

1:00 pm to 2:00pm

Open

2:00pm to 2:30pm

Closed

2:30pm to 3:30pm

Open

3:30pm to 4:00pm

Closed

4:00pm to 5:00pm

Motorists are encouraged to time their travel over Mt Messenger before 10am or after 5pm, where possible.
