We missed presenting a youth show last year due to COVID-19 and are pleased to be back with an original script by writer / director Melissa Charbonneau (inspired by the Legend of the Sword in the Stone).
‘Martie Pendragon and the Sword of Power’ tells the story of Martie ‘Martina’ Pendragon, just your average young girl trying to figure out where she belongs in the world. Perhaps, though, she is much more than she realises.
After moving towns and changing schools, Martie comes face-to-face with her past, which might just include the bumbling wizard Merlin, his enchantress sister Morgana and the legendary Sword in the Stone.
Will Martie accept her heritage in time to help her robotics team win the interschool competition in the present? Or will she lose her power forever?
This modern re-telling of the Arthur legend has all the song, dance and fun you have come to expect from our youth / family shows while also being updated with a strong anti-bullying theme (reflecting a serious issue currently prevalent amongst our young people).
