A section of SH1/Tay Street in central Invercargill is expected to be closed overnight following an earlier serious crash involving a car and a bicycle.
The crash, at the intersection of SH1/Tay Street and Mcmaster Street, was reported to Police just before 9.30pm.
The cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
SH1, between Queens Drive and Mary Street, is closed and diversions are in place.
