Statement to be attributed to Area Commander Lincoln Sycamore:
Police have now concluded a search of a Te Awa residential property following an alleged firearms incident overnight.
As a result, items of interest were recovered.
A 26-year-old man is due to appear in the Hastings District Court tomorrow charged with unlawful possession of ammunition, discharging a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm and failing to comply with conditions of a Protection Order.
Further charges are being considered.
