Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is encouraging the community to have their say on a 14.2km median barrier option for State Highway 2 between Tetley Road and Esdaile Road, south of Katikati, before feedback closes this Friday (21 May).

Consultation at this stage is important to inform the next step, which is the design of a median barrier and roundabouts.  

Safe turnaround areas will be considered as part of the detailed design phase with the most likely option being single lane roundabouts, sized to accommodate a High Productivity Motor Vehicle (HPMV) 25m B Train. Approximately six roundabouts would need to be constructed for a median barrier of 14.2km.
