Match reports from Round 2 of the second tier Crown Lift Trucks Fox Championship Qualifiers played on May 8.

Manurewa 28 Eastern United 6

Manurewa scored 20 points in the second half to down Eastern United, with half Eldon Kake among the standouts. The Marlins led 8-0 at the break and hit new levels in the second stanza.

Otara 60 Waitemata 4

Seven first-half tries set Otara up for a big win over Waitemata, with fullback Josh Perez scoring three times. The win is Otara’s first for the year after they went down to Manukau in the opening round.

Hibiscus Coast 22 Manukau 20

A huge second-half turnaround saw Hibiscus Coast score 18 unanswered points and become the first team to beat Manukau in the last 12 months. Liam Ackland scored and converted the final try to win the game for the Raiders, who join Manurewa as the competition’s only unbeaten sides after the first two rounds.

Pakuranga 28 Papatoetoe 4

Fullback Viliami Kuli and wing Ataata Tukia both scored doubles as Pakuranga overcame Papatoetoe for their first win of the year. The Jaguars join several teams on two competition points, having fallen to the Hibiscus Coast in their season opener a fortnight ago.
