Whau Local Board has a new Deputy Chair, with Fasitua Amosa elected to replace Susan Zhu at the April Whau business meeting.

Ms Zhu has held the Deputy Chair position for the last two terms and has stepped down from the role due to increasing business commitments. She will remain a member of the board, with Mr Amosa taking the role.

Thanks

Board Chair Kay Thomas thanked Ms Zhu for the work she has done as Deputy Chair. “Susan has been a fantastic Deputy and I want to thank her for her tireless commitment to the role, and the help and support she has provided to me especially during our time together.

“I’m delighted that she will remain on the board and continue to bring her knowledge and wealth of experience to the benefit of the Whau.

“And my congratulations to Fasitua on his election to Deputy Chair. He has already shown his value to the board during his time here and I am sure he will thrive with the extra responsibility of the Deputy Chair position. The community can rest assured that the board is in good hands going forward.”

Honoured

New Deputy Chair Fasitua Amosa says he is honoured to accept the role.

“I’m really excited to get going as Deputy Chair. I’ve enjoyed my time on the board so far and I’m really keen to help the board move forward.

“I want to thank my fellow colleagues for having faith in me to take the role on, and my thanks to Susan for all the hard work she has done. I’m pleased she will still be on the board to offer her experience and knowledge which is invaluable.”
