Do you know an outstanding young alumni? Nominate them for a 20twenties Award.
Do you know a young graduate who is making a positive impact in their community, in their field of work, or in a wider arena, through their leadership, innovation, determination or research?
Nominations for this year’s University of Otago 20Twenties Young Alumni Awards are now open, and the Development and Alumni Relations Office (DARO) is hoping for a great response to its call for entries.
Alumni Engagement Manager Donnella Aitken-Ferguson says she hopes to build on the success of last year’s inaugural awards, which celebrated a group of wonderfully dedicated, talented and accomplished young alumni, who are making a difference across diverse communities and professions.
“Despite all the challenges of the pandemic, and the impact it is having on our young graduates, it is really inspiring to see how these young people are adding to the well-being and advancement of their communities,” Donnella says.
DARO is on the hunt for graduates in their twenties who are disrupting the status quo; using ground-breaking ideas to solve old problems; making a positive contribution to the health and well-being of their community; demonstrating that leadership can be successful from non-traditional arenas; providing successful business models for this century; or showing innovation in an area dear to their heart.
“We’re looking for true trailblazers who challenge the status quo to make a better future for all of us,” Donnella says.
Help celebrate our young alumni’s achievements and acknowledge them publicly by nominating someone you know from your community, someone you work with or someone who is doing great things in their area of work, in New Zealand or overseas.
To be eligible, candidates must be under 30 at the time of nomination and be a graduate of the University of Otago with a full qualification (a Certificate of Proficiency (COP) is not eligible).
