Key facts

The 6-day series includes jobs with a pay
period equal to or less than 7 days, while the 20-day series covers jobs
with pay periods of 14 days or fewer. The 34-day series includes all jobs
regardless of their pay period.

The 34-day series indicated that for the
latest week, the week ended 14 March 2021:

  • the number of paid jobs (compared with the
    previous week) were:
    • 2,258,370 total paid jobs (up 18,350 or 0.82
      percent)
    • 105,360 paid jobs in primary industries (down
      240 or 0.23 percent)
    • 427,080 paid jobs in goods-producing industries
      (up 1,350 or 0.32 percent)
    • 1,666,790 in services industries (up 16,230
      or 0.98 percent)
    • 59,140 in unclassified industries (up 1,010
      or 1.74 percent)
  • the median income (compared with the previous
    week) was:
    • $1,070.55 (up $1.05 or 0.10 percent).
